The time has come for me to retire, so El Cortijo closed last night for the last time under my management.
To be honest this decision was not taken until last weekend because I really didn’t want to leave so many friends from the past eight years. In this time, I tried very hard to give everybody that came to El Cortijo the experience they deserved, and I hope to some degree I, and all the staff that worked with me, managed to do that most of the time.
I will miss it all, but my children finally made me realise that at my age I couldn’t continue to do everything that was necessary to run both the bar and the restaurant, and keep the building and grounds up to standard, so it was time to let someone else take over.
So, all that remains is to thank you all, it has been a pleasure to spend time with all of you, and I wish you the very best and hope you will continue to support whatever comes next.
